Adam Mars-Jones drops in to discuss Box Hill, winner of the 2019 Fitzcarraldo Editions Novel Prize, a stunning novel of desire and domination by one of Britain's most accomplished writers.
Adam Mars-Jones' books include The Waters of Thirst, 1993, which missed the Booker Prize shortlist by a whisker, Pilcrow (2008) and Cedilla (2011). His other books include the memoir Kid Gloves, 2015, and Noriko Smiling, a book-length study of a single classic Japanese film. He reviews fiction for the LRB and films for the TLS. Box Hill is publishing March 2020.
