Boff Whalley and Commoners Choir with Harmony Choir: A Song For Us West Yorkshire

Mon 1 January 0001 - Sun 6 March 2022
Carriageworks Theatre

Leeds-based Commoners Choir and Harmony Choir (a choir of refugees led by Frances Bernstein) team up to present a new song 'Looking Out, Reaching Out', co-written by Thanda Gumede and is a call for people of West Yorkshire to make connections with places right around the world. Our city is historically built on and by refugees and this is a lyrical and musical celebration of that. Join us as we reach outside our city and recognise the way we're stitched into the rest of the planet. Both choirs will perform their own songs before joining as one 60-70-strong vocal chorus to sing 'Looking Out...'.

Looking Out, Reaching Out was commissioned by Sound Uk and Opera North.
