Inspiring the City is supported by Leeds Inspired part of Leeds City Council

This is a workshop aimed at all levels, which will introduce you to the art and craft of writing scripts, and in particular, the short film script. Learn about the basic building blocks of good screenwriting, character and structure. Pick up tips on what makes a scene fly, and get the dos and don't of the business from an industry professional. This workshop will include screenings of short films, as well as practical exercises to get you started.

Michael has written for TV, stage and radio, and is the winner of the BBC Alfred Bradley Bursary Award, and the BBC Short Range film completion. His debut novel, King Crow, was published in January 2011 by Bluemoose Books. It is the winner of the Guardian’s Not-the-Booker Award. His latest novel, Ill Will: The Untold Story of Heathcliff, is published by HarperCollins.
 

Places are limited for the workshops so please book early. This workshop lasts 2 hours.

Please note the 10am workshop takes place at Rothwell Library and the 2pm workshop takes place at Halton Library.
