Leeds Lit Fest presents
Inspiring the City is supported by Leeds Inspired part of Leeds City Council.
There is nothing more fascinating than people’s everyday lives. Everybody has a story to tell. In this workshop with Barney Bardsley we will be writing about a moment of change in our lives - big or small - and bringing that moment to life, through vivid descriptions, based on personal memory and real life occurrences. We will use all our five senses - sights, sounds, smells, tastes and touch - to make our writing as enjoyable to read as it will be to write. This workshop will help you bring your experience to life on the page, through the power of your own imagination. Real stories start here!
Barney Bardsley is an author and creative writing teacher. She writes features for the Guardian, Psychologies Magazine, Woman’s Weekly, Yorkshire Post and Femail. Her latest memoir “Old Dog”, about the therapeutic power of animals, was published by Simon and Schuster in 2013.
Places are limited for the workshops so please book early. This workshop lasts 2 hours.
Please note the 10am workshop takes place at Seacroft Library and the 2pm workshop takes place at Compton Library in Harehills.
