What’s the Point of Short Stories? With award winning authors Owen Booth and Richard Smyth

Mon 1 January 0001 - Tue 1 March 2022
Hyde Park Book Club

What’s the point of Short Stories? Why should readers still read short stories? Why should writers still write them? And why should publishers still publish them? Join award winning authors Owen Booth and Richard Smyth to find out at this in person event.
Owen Booth (The Moth Short Story Prize 2020 winner, The White Review Short Story Prize 2015 winner, The V.S. Pritchett Short Story Prize 2021 shortlist) and Richard Smyth (BBC Short Story Prize 2021 shortlist, Galley Beggars Short Story Prize 2017 longlist) will discuss why they still write – and read – short stories, introduce some of their recent favourites, and read from their own work. Owen will also argue that short stories are actually superior to novels, which may lead to a heated debate!
